General Conditions for the Carriage of Luggage by Coach/Minibus

1. General Rules

1.1. Passengers may carry luggage and hand luggage only under conditions that ensure the safety of the trip and in compliance with the instructions of the driver or onboard staff.
1.2. Luggage must be properly packed so that it does not open during transport, become damaged, or cause damage to other passengers, staff, the vehicle, or other luggage.
1.3. The carrier may refuse luggage that: exceeds the permitted limits; cannot be stored safely; poses a risk to passengers or the vehicle; emits unpleasant odors; may stain, damage, or inconvenience other passengers.

2. Hand Luggage

2.1. Hand luggage is the luggage kept by the passenger inside the coach/minibus under the passenger’s direct supervision.
2.2. Hand luggage must be of reasonable size and placed in such a way that it does not block the aisle, doors, steps, emergency exits, or seats of other passengers.
2.3. Hand luggage must not inconvenience other passengers or affect the safe operation of the trip.
2.4. The passenger is fully responsible for the supervision and safety of hand luggage carried inside the passenger compartment.

3. Checked Luggage / Hold Luggage

3.1. Luggage transported in the luggage compartment must be handed over to the designated staff member at boarding.
3.2. Upon acceptance of luggage, the carrier may attach a tag, token, or another internal identification means.
3.3. Luggage shall be returned at destination to the holder of the identification tag or to a person who can reasonably prove entitlement to the luggage.
3.4. If luggage is not collected upon arrival, it may be stored by the carrier at the passenger’s expense in accordance with internal procedures.

4. Permitted Size and Weight

4.1. For regular transport services, one checked item of luggage may be carried within the size and weight limits set by the carrier’s policy.
4.2. Luggage exceeding the standard limits may be accepted only subject to available space and payment of the applicable extra fee.
4.3. The carrier reserves the right to refuse oversized or overweight luggage if it cannot be handled and stored safely.

5. Prohibited Items

5.1. The following items are prohibited in both hand luggage and checked luggage: explosive, flammable, toxic, corrosive, or otherwise dangerous substances;  weapons, ammunition, and sharp or pointed objects that are not properly packed; illegal goods; items likely to leak, emit strong odors, or soil the vehicle or other luggage; items which, due to their size or shape, may obstruct passengers or exits.

6. Fragile and Valuable Items

6.1. Documents, money, jewelry, electronic devices, medicines, keys, personal documents, and other valuable or fragile items must be kept exclusively in hand luggage and under the passenger’s supervision.
6.2. The carrier shall not be liable for the loss of or damage to valuable or fragile items placed in checked luggage unless such items were expressly declared and accepted in advance.

7. Special Luggage

7.1. Bicycles, strollers, sports equipment, musical instruments, small household appliances, and other special items may be carried only with the prior approval of the carrier.
7.2. Acceptance of such items depends on: available space; type of vehicle; quality of packaging; ability to handle the item safely; payment of an additional charge, where applicable.

8. Boarding and Inspection

8.1. Passengers must inform the staff if they are carrying special, fragile, oversized, or otherwise non-standard luggage.
8.2. For safety reasons, the carrier may request that luggage be opened in the passenger’s presence where there is a reasonable suspicion of prohibited or dangerous contents.
8.3. Refusal to cooperate may result in refusal to carry the luggage or, where appropriate, refusal of travel.

9. Liability of the Parties

9.1. The carrier is liable for checked luggage accepted for transport in the luggage compartment from the moment of acceptance until delivery at destination, subject to applicable law and these conditions.
9.2. The passenger is responsible for: the accuracy of information provided about the luggage; proper packing; prohibited items concealed in the luggage; luggage and belongings kept inside the passenger compartment. 
9.3. The carrier shall not be liable for: items forgotten or left unattended by the passenger inside the passenger compartment; indirect losses; damage caused by improper packing; damage resulting from the inherent nature of the item carried.

10. Lost, Delayed, or Damaged Luggage

10.1. Any shortage, damage, or irregularity concerning luggage must be reported immediately upon arrival, before leaving the place of arrival, or within the time limit established by the carrier’s internal procedure.
10.2. The complaint should include, where applicable: passenger’s name; trip and travel date; description of the luggage; luggage tag/token number, if any description of the issue and the claimed damage.
10.3. The carrier shall review the complaint in accordance with applicable law and internal procedures.

11. Unclaimed Luggage

11.1. Luggage not collected at destination may be stored by the carrier at the passenger’s expense.
11.2. If the owner cannot present proof of collection, the carrier may request additional proof of ownership.
11.3. After expiry of the internal and legal storage periods, the carrier may proceed in accordance with the law and internal rules.

12. Final Provisions

12.1. By purchasing a ticket and handing over luggage for carriage, the passenger confirms that they have read and accepted these general conditions.
12.2. These conditions are supplemented by the applicable legislation of the Republic of Moldova, the rules of the transit/destination states, and, where relevant, the applicable European rules governing regular coach services.
